Irrfan Khan passes away battling colon infection, Bollywood stars mourn Irrfan’s untimely Demise

Not only Bollywood but the world has lost a true gem today as Irrfan Khan breathed his last in Mumbai. The 54 year old actor was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on April 28 evening for a colon infection.

The actor was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in 2018 and had been under medical treatment in the UK. After extensive treatment, he recovered to shoot Angrezi Medium, the film which would now turn out to be his last.  The film was released a few days before the nation-wide lockdown was announced.

Irrfan Khan was undeniably one of the finest actors that Hindi cinema has ever seen. He achieved considerable success in both Bollywood and Hollywood through his versatile acting abilities.

His roles in films like ‘Angrezi Medium’, ‘Hindi Medium’, ‘Piku’, ‘The Lunchbox’, ‘Haider’, ‘Talvar’, ‘Life of Pi’, ‘Paan Singh Tomar’, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘ Hasil’, ‘Maqbool’  and many more won millions of heart across the world.  Through his incredible workpieces, Irrfan managed to carve a niche for himself. His demise has surely left a huge vacuum in the Indian and global film industries.

Despite his long battle with cancer, Irrfan never gave up and fought hard till his last breath.  From Political leaders to sports stars to film stars, many celebrities share emotional messages on their social media accounts after hearing the news of Irrfan’s untimely demise.

Irrfan Khan lost his mother, four days before his death, but the actor could not attend her last rites due to his health condition and Coronavirus lockdown.
